The ‘Slow’ movement
In the whirlwind of our busy lives, the concept of ‘Slow’ has emerged as a gentle counterbalance—a refuge from the chaos, a sanctuary for the soul. Drawing inspiration from the Slow Food Movement and the broader ‘Slow Revolution’, my philosophy revolves around the art of living deliberately, cherishing every moment, and allowing the creative process to unfold at its own unhurried pace.
In the realm of Slow Art, this philosophy extends into a therapeutic embrace, seamlessly blending with the principles of art therapy and mindfulness. It’s an invitation to savour the present, to find solace in the deliberate strokes of creation, and to embrace the transformative power of slow living—a sanctuary where art becomes a mindful journey, and the soul finds respite in the unhurried beauty of the creative process.

Meet the artist behind Slow Art
My art therapy diploma inspired me to launch Slow Art. Dedicated to fostering mindful creativity. Guiding and inspiring you to create art for a purposeful life.
I’m Bobby Graham, speaker, author, publisher and artist.
In 2021, I embarked on a journey of teaching people to unleash their creativity on the iPad using Procreate. This initiative sparked the Artists Society of Canberra to introduce a Digital Art Category for their exhibition series.
I have authored, illustrated, and published four books, showcasing the essence of travel, people, and places.
As a member of the Canberra Urban Sketchers group, I participated in the Brisbane Sketchmeet in 2019 and the International Urban Sketchers Symposium in Auckland in 2023. The year 2022 saw me on an Art Safari to Arnhem Land, sketching amidst awe-inspiring rock art. I also took part in an artist’s retreat in Euroa, Victoria, during the same year. I regularly attend Sturt Summer and Winter School, refreshing my own art practice.
As an instructor, I offer a diverse range of courses, both on iPad and traditional paper. The courses help you reduce stress, improve your mental wellbeing and enhance your creativity.
This creative energy extends to my daily slow art visual journal, where I document my husband's remarkable journey to recovery following a stroke.
